The fourth Tuesday of March every year we recognize National Diabetes Alert Day. The awareness event is meant to alert more than 34 Million Americans living with diabetes, and the 1 in 5 Americans1 who are living with diabetes and don’t even know they have it, to be aware of the risk.
It is Black History Month, and Restore is advocating for BHM Minority Health Awareness. Know Your Diabetes Risk to Manage Your Health. Knowledge is power because knowing your risk can help encourage healthy change.
When making plans to show our loved ones how much they mean to us, we need to consider those individuals in our lives who suffer from diabetes, and how best to celebrate with them in ways that are not detrimental to their health.
